Eggars and Lappets are thick-set, medium-sized or large moths with deep, rounded, usually warm brown or yellowish wings, generally with a central spot or cross-lines. Males have broadly feathered antennae, with which they can detect female pheromones from several hundred meters. Adult moths are unable to feed.
