Description

Family: Polyommatinae

Wing span: 29 - 36 mm

This butterfly has brown upper surfaces, and a yellowish-brown underside with white-ringed post-discal spots. The sexes are similar.

It has a scattered distribution in SE Europe, extending from Greece to Hungary and Slovakia.

It is found in dry and stony glades in river gorges, woodland clearings and mountain slopes between 400 and 1800m.

There is one brood between June and September.

Larval foodplants are various sainfoins (Onobrychis spp.)
