Description

L: 23 - 26 cm; WS: 40 - 45 cm

A small slim, rather long-tailed and short-winged dove. Appears reddish-brown at moderate range, but has blue-grey wing panels and an all-white undertail.

It is mainly found in north Africa and the eastern Mediterranean. It is also found on the Canary Islands.

It breeds in small woods, plantations and gardens.

The Laughing Dove is of Least Concern in the IUCN listing.
